intelligence and cognitive abilities part 1: a very brief introduction to intelligence theories
This presentation is part 1 of a 9-part series of presentations.
The series presents 7 cognitive abilities as conceptualized by CHC theory.
What's in the presentation series?
¨An introduction to the psychometric model in the context
of other models of intelligence
- in part 1
¨Links between cognitive abilities and reading, writing
and math, and their importance.
¨Cognitive abilities:
¤What are they? How
are they relevant to the child’s functioning at school?
¤What information from
the intake will hint us that the child might be having difficulties with a
specific ability?
¤How will difficulties
in a specific ability affect the child's performance in the assessment process – apart from the tests designed to
measure this ability?
¤What will we
recommend in case of difficulties?
¨References. enjoy!
