Learning disability - the story of a definition

This link will lead you to a presentation presenting changes and developments in learning disability definition.  The subject is presented through the stories of three children who are diagnosed differently by the different definitions.  Presented are the DSM5 definition, the Flanagan definition according to the CHC model, the discrepancy formula, RTI and more.

I know not many people are interested in definitions, but I think this is an extremely important subject, having social, political, economical and professional implications.

לקות למידה – סיפורה של הגדרה

בלחיצה כאן תוכלו למצוא מצגת שמציגה כמה מגלגוליה של הגדרת לקות למידה.  הנושא מוצג באמצעות סיפורם של שלושה ילדים המוגדרים אחרת בכל אחת מההגדרות.   המצגת דנה בהגדרת    RTI, DSM5,  הגדרת FLANAGAN ברוח CHC ועוד.

אני יודעת שלא רבים אוהבים להתעסק בנבכי ההגדרות, אך לדעתי זהו נושא חשוב מאין כמותו, מכיוון שיש לו השלכות חברתיות, פוליטיות, כלכליות ומקצועיות והוא מושפע מאלמנטים חברתיים, תרבותיים, פוליטיים, כלכליים ומקצועיים.

This is not a new paper (published in 2006), but it has a nice explanation, which is not too lengthy, and is accompanied by examples, of the RTI model.
